Responsibilities
- Lead Product Development: Spearhead the end-to-end creation of new food products, from concept and formulation to pilot production and commercialization.
- Sensory Analysis: Design and conduct rigorous sensory evaluation panels to ensure product palatability and consumer appeal.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet strict FDA, USDA, and global food safety standards, including HACCP and GFSI requirements.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze ingredient costs and production processes to develop cost-effective formulations without compromising quality.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior scientists and cross-functional teams (marketing, operations) to align R&D goals with business objectives.
- Innovation Strategy: Stay ahead of food trends, emerging technologies, and ingredient innovations to keep Nexus Culinary Group at the forefront of the market.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in food R&D, preferably within the prepared foods or beverage sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical process control, sensory evaluation methods, and food safety regulations.
- Laboratory Proficiency: Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, texture analyzers, and quality control instrumentation.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a track record of troubleshooting formulation challenges.
