Responsibilities
- Oversee daily fleet operations ensuring maximum efficiency and safety across all regional and long-haul routes.
- Implement and manage advanced Telematics and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to reduce fuel consumption and idle time.
- Negotiate high-value contracts with third-party carriers and fuel suppliers to optimize operational expenditure.
- Maintain 100% compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
- Analyze real-time performance metrics and KPIs to identify operational bottlenecks and implement lean improvement strategies.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of dispatchers, drivers, and administrative staff to foster a culture of professional excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related business field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in large-scale transportation or fleet management.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS (Hours of Service) rules, and ELD mandates.
- Proven track record of managing annual operational budgets exceeding $10 million.
- Advanced proficiency in enterprise logistics software such as SAP, Oracle, or McLeod TMS.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a history of managing teams of 50+ employees in a fast-paced environment.
