Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of a fleet of 50+ commercial vehicles, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime.
- Analyze operational data to optimize fuel consumption, route planning, and overall fleet performance.
- Ensure strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, FMCSA standards, and internal company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and parts procurement to control costs.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of professional drivers and logistics coordinators.
- Implement and monitor telematics and fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Geotab) to track driver behavior and vehicle health.
- Prepare and review monthly fleet reports, budget forecasts, and compliance documentation for executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or transportation logistics.
- Strong working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety compliance standards.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and telematics systems.
- Proven track record of reducing operational costs and improving fuel efficiency.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not required for the management role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
