Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily execution and optimization of fleet routes to ensure on-time delivery and minimal fuel consumption.
- Monitor transportation metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and implementing data-driven strategies for operational improvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage relationships with third-party carriers and vendors to negotiate favorable contracts and service levels.
- Analyze logistics costs and develop comprehensive strategies to reduce overhead while maintaining service quality.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to forecast transportation needs and adjust resource allocation dynamically.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, transportation logistics, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficient in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as SAP, Oracle, or Manhattan Associates.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or strong understanding of commercial vehicle regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of negotiating with external partners.
