Apex Financial Solutions is seeking a high-caliber Senior Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and provide critical financial insights to our executive team. Based in the heart of NYC's Financial District, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our fiscal health and driving long-term growth.
You will oversee the entire accounting lifecycle, from month-end close processes to regulatory compliance, ensuring accuracy and transparency in all financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Oversee all corporate accounting functions, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and standardized financial policies to mitigate risk.
- Manage external audit processes and serve as the primary liaison with tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and KPIs to leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of accounting staff.
- Manage treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
- Expertise in GAAP standards and advanced knowledge of financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Sage Intacct).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Proven ability to manage complex financial projects and cross-functional collaborations.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professional skepticism, and attention to detail.
