Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop complex financial models and perform rigorous forecasting to support long-term strategic planning and budgeting cycles.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare high-level executive summaries and monthly reporting packages for the C-suite, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all financial presentations.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting systems and processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload.
- Capital Allocation: Analyze investment opportunities and support the finance team in the assessment of project ROI and risk management.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial reporting adheres to UK GAAP and internal compliance standards during internal and external audits.
Qualifications & Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who combines technical expertise with a strategic mindset:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Credentials: Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or CFA) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis within the financial services or Fintech industry.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA, PivotTables) and financial modeling software; experience with SQL or Power BI is highly preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated track record of accuracy in high-volume reporting environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex financial models for budgeting and forecasting.
- Conduct variance analysis and present detailed reports to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize capital allocation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
- Enhance financial reporting processes and systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to UK GAAP and internal compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified (or part-qualified).
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with SQL/Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
