Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Lead the conceptualization and strategic development of corporate and social events, ensuring alignment with client brand identity.
- Budget Management: Develop comprehensive budgets, monitor spending in real-time, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Vendor Relations: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with a diverse network of caterers, AV specialists, venues, and creative agencies.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of event coordinators and junior planners, conducting regular performance reviews and skill development sessions.
- Logistics Oversight: Oversee site visits, floor plans, technical requirements, and on-site operations to ensure seamless execution.
- Crisis Management: Proactively identify potential risks and execute contingency plans to mitigate issues during live events.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, presenting proposals and managing feedback to foster long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in event management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale corporate events (budgets over £100k).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in event management software (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, Asana) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to pitch ideas persuasively to C-level executives.
- Organization: Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Network: Established network of contacts within the London events industry and creative sectors.
