At Apex Grid Solutions, we are powering the next generation of infrastructure. We are looking for a visionary Senior Electrical Engineer to join our San Jose headquarters. You will lead cross-functional teams in the design, simulation, and implementation of high-voltage power distribution systems, playing a pivotal role in our transition to green energy microgrids.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle design of complex electrical power systems, from conceptualization to final deployment.
- Perform detailed load flow, short circuit, and arc flash analysis using ETAP or SKM software.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate renewable energy sources into existing utility grids.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and manage testing/commissioning phases to ensure rigorous safety and performance standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and NESC standards across all regional projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in power distribution or industrial electrical design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and simulation software (ETAP, SKM, or PSCAD).
- Deep understanding of high-voltage equipment, switchgear, and protective relaying.
- Proven ability to manage technical project timelines and cross-departmental communications.
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for sustainable grid technology.
