Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of complex power distribution systems for utility-scale renewable projects.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic using AutoCAD Electrical and ETAP.
- Conduct short-circuit, load flow, and arc flash studies to ensure safety and system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate battery energy storage systems (BESS) into existing grids.
- Manage project lifecycles from concept and feasibility studies through construction and commissioning.
- Mentor junior engineers and peer-review technical documentation to maintain industry-leading design standards.
- Ensure full compliance with NEC, IEEE, and local utility regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in power systems engineering.
- Current PE (Professional Engineer) license in the State of California preferred.
- Deep proficiency in power systems modeling software (ETAP, SKM, or PSSE).
- Proven track record of managing technical projects with tight deadlines and complex constraints.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights for stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage transmission and medium-voltage distribution systems.
