Responsibilities
- Lead Analytical Initiatives: Design and implement complex statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve critical public sector challenges.
- Policy Translation: Collaborate with policymakers and stakeholders to translate raw data into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all data handling practices adhere to federal regulations, including FISMA, OMB Circulars, and privacy laws.
- Team Mentorship: Mentor junior analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the agency.
- Data Visualization: Develop interactive dashboards and reports that make complex data accessible to non-technical audiences.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional agile teams to deliver data-driven solutions on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field (PhD preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or statistical modeling, preferably within the government or large enterprise sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn), R, SQL, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Government Knowledge: Strong understanding of government procurement processes, IT governance, and federal compliance standards.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including executives and the general public.
