You will work alongside policy makers, intelligence experts, and technical architects to shape the future of public sector cybersecurity governance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity policies and standards for federal information systems.
- Conduct rigorous risk assessments and impact analysis on emerging digital initiatives.
- Collaborate with interagency stakeholders to align security posture with NIST and FISMA guidelines.
- Lead incident response coordination efforts regarding national policy compliance.
- Draft executive briefings, white papers, and formal legislative responses for agency leadership.
- Facilitate cross-departmental security audits to ensure sustained compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
- Deep understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
- Strong analytical writing skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable policy.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships within a complex bureaucratic environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are highly preferred.
