Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST frameworks and federal mandates
- Collaborate with Department of Homeland Security, NSA, and congressional committees on threat response strategies
- Conduct risk assessments for critical infrastructure sectors (energy, finance, healthcare)
- Lead interagency working groups on emerging cyber threats and countermeasures
- Prepare policy briefings for senior leadership and congressional testimony
- Oversee compliance audits and enforcement actions for federal cybersecurity regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Public Policy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 8+ years experience in cybersecurity policy development or federal IT security
- Active CISSP, CISM, or equivalent government security clearance (Top Secret/SCI required)
- Expertise in FISMA, CUI, and federal zero-trust architecture standards
- Proven track record of writing and implementing federal regulations
- Experience with congressional testimony and interagency negotiations
