The Role
As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for leading security operations, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as PIPEDA and ISO 27001. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior staff and driving security initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cybersecurity risks across enterprise systems.
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, data privacy laws, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT audit, or risk management within the public sector or similar high-security environment.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC are strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA) and government security frameworks.
- Experience with network security technologies, encryption standards, and identity management (IAM).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Canadian security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) is required.
