Responsibilities
- Lead incident response efforts and forensic investigations for high-priority cyber threats targeting federal assets.
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies aligned with NIST and FedRAMP frameworks.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability testing to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Collaborate with legislative bodies and policy makers to draft and interpret cybersecurity legislation.
- Manage a team of junior analysts and security engineers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Oversee the monitoring of security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect anomalies in real-time.
- Lead red team operations and penetration testing exercises to validate defensive controls.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles within the public sector or federal government.
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance is mandatory.
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification is required; Security+ preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal compliance standards, including FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and HIPAA.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and scripting languages for security automation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and policymakers.
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) in a government context.
