Responsibilities
- Lead M&A transactions, venture capital financings, and strategic partnerships for high-growth tech clients
- Advise on corporate governance, SEC compliance, and data privacy regulations (GDPR/CCPA)
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements including SaaS, licensing, and joint ventures
- Manage litigation strategy and external counsel relationships for corporate disputes
- Develop innovative legal solutions for emerging technologies including blockchain and AI
- Mentor junior attorneys and lead legal department initiatives
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree with active Illinois bar license
- 8+ years of corporate law experience at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department
- Proven track record in technology transactions and regulatory compliance
- Exceptional negotiation skills with ability to draft precise, enforceable agreements
- Experience managing cross-border transactions and international regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with ability to distill complex legal concepts into actionable business advice
- Admitted to practice in Illinois and willingness to obtain additional state admissions as needed
