Responsibilities
- Evaluate and price complex commercial property and casualty risks within established underwriting guidelines.
- Manage a high-volume pipeline of new and renewal business submissions from top-tier brokers.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, utilizing advanced data analytics and predictive modeling tools.
- Collaborate with the Claims and Legal departments to resolve coverage disputes and mitigate potential liabilities.
- Mentor junior underwriters on technical coverage analysis and industry best practices.
- Monitor market trends and adjust underwriting strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Develop and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key insurance brokers and agents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting (P&C preferred).
- Strong proficiency in coverage analysis, risk assessment, and policy drafting.
- Active CPCU, ARM, or AU professional designations are highly preferred.
- Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage broker expectations.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
