Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property and casualty risks to determine coverage feasibility and premium pricing.
- Analyze loss trends and portfolio performance to drive profitable growth strategies.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with top-tier brokers to secure competitive business placements.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and contribute to the development of new underwriting guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Claims and Actuarial departments to ensure risk accuracy and reserve adequacy.
- Maintain compliance with state insurance regulations and company underwriting appetite.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines underwriting (P&C).
- Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or AU strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in risk modeling software and Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-million dollar book of business.
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on client relationship management.
