Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial risks, ensuring alignment with corporate profitability targets and risk appetite.
- Manage an active portfolio of high-net-worth commercial accounts, providing exceptional service to brokers and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail brokers to generate a high-quality pipeline of new and renewal business.
- Conduct thorough loss analysis and premium modeling to ensure accurate risk pricing.
- Collaborate with actuarial and claims departments to refine underwriting guidelines and risk strategies.
- Mentor junior underwriters and foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic shifts to adapt underwriting strategies proactively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience with a focus on middle-market or large accounts.
- Advanced knowledge of policy forms, pricing models, and commercial risk evaluation techniques.
- Professional insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC are highly preferred.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in modern underwriting platforms and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex data sets.
