CivicTech Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, resilient cloud solutions for our federal and state government partners. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex agency requirements and cutting-edge cloud architecture, ensuring compliance with strict federal security frameworks.
You will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to modernize legacy IT environments. This is a high-visibility position requiring a deep understanding of cloud migration patterns, security compliance, and public sector procurement cycles.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy highly secure, scalable cloud infrastructure within AWS GovCloud and Azure Government environments.
- Lead legacy application modernization efforts for federal agencies, migrating workloads to secure containerized architectures.
- Ensure all system designs comply with federal frameworks including FedRAMP High, DoD SRG, and FISMA.
- Author comprehensive technical proposals, architectural diagrams, and system security plans (SSPs).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring implementation aligns with architectural blueprints.
- Conduct regular architectural reviews and cost-optimization audits for existing public sector deployments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically supporting US Public Sector clients.
- Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert credential.
- Deep understanding of compliance standards such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, CJIS, and NIST SP 800-53.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of presenting complex technical solutions to non-technical agency stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance (active clearance highly preferred).
