Are you a seasoned cloud engineer looking to make a meaningful impact? The Federal Digital Transformation Agency is seeking a visionary Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the architecture and migration of mission-critical citizen services. You will work at the intersection of high-scale technology and public good, ensuring our infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and secure.
You will play a pivotal role in implementing Zero Trust architecture and streamlining CI/CD pipelines to accelerate the delivery of government services to millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain highly available cloud-based infrastructure within a multi-cloud environment.
- Lead the migration of legacy monolithic applications to containerized microservices using Kubernetes.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and compliance monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robust cybersecurity protocols and Zero Trust frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff on best practices for cloud-native development.
- Optimize system performance and cloud spend by monitoring utilization metrics and implementing automated scaling policies.
- Ensure full compliance with NIST, FedRAMP, and internal federal security mandates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering, or system architecture.
- Expert-level proficiency with AWS or Azure cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes/EKS/AKS).
- Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps culture and automated security testing in CI/CD pipelines.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for a public trust or federal security clearance.
