Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of complex civil infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and drainage systems
- Perform hydraulic modeling and hydrological analysis for flood control projects using HEC-RAS and SWMM
- Manage project lifecycle from conception through construction administration and compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architects, environmental specialists)
- Develop cost estimates, construction schedules, and quality control documentation
- Ensure compliance with TxDOT, FEMA, and local municipal regulations
- Research and implement sustainable design practices including LEED certification standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling software
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale transportation or water resource projects
- Strong knowledge of local permitting processes and construction methods
- Excellent project management and client communication skills
- Familiarity with BIM/CIM technologies for infrastructure visualization
