The Role:
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical direction, planning, and management of civil engineering projects from conception to completion. You will ensure that all designs meet regulatory standards, client requirements, and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, and structural works.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and construction teams.
- Ensure strict compliance with UK building regulations, health and safety standards (HSE), and environmental laws.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project approvals.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and tender documents using CAD and BIM software.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety awareness.
Qualifications
- BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Chartered status (ICE) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in civil engineering project management or design.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction codes and building regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid UK driving license.
