Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of civil engineering projects, from initial concept and design through to construction supervision and handover.
- Technical Design: Develop detailed structural designs and calculations using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs adhere to strict UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, presenting technical proposals and managing expectations effectively.
- Team Management: Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects, surveyors, and contractors to ensure seamless project integration.
- Cost Management: Assist in preparing estimates and budgets, ensuring projects remain financially viable without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (MEng/BEng) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of proven experience in civil infrastructure, with a strong portfolio of completed projects in the UK.
- Chartered Status: Fully chartered status (MICE or MCIOB) is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modeling) and advanced CAD skills.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex engineering challenges creatively.
