Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of large-scale civil infrastructure projects (transportation, water systems, urban development)
- Perform structural analysis using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit for complex engineering solutions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal engineering standards (IDOT, OSHA, ICC)
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for 5-10 concurrent projects
- Conduct site investigations, soil testing, and feasibility studies
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects, environmental consultants, and government agencies
- Prepare detailed construction documentation including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Civil 3D) and engineering analysis tools
- Demonstrated expertise in structural design, hydrology modeling, and construction management
- Strong track record delivering projects on budget with zero safety incidents
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management and public presentations
- Experience with sustainable design principles (LEED certification a plus)
