Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and execution of large-scale civil infrastructure projects (bridges, transit systems, urban developments)
- Develop and optimize structural plans using BIM/CIM technologies for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams including architects, environmental specialists, and construction managers
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA standards, local building codes, and sustainability certifications (LEED, Envision)
- Conduct site inspections and forensic analysis to resolve complex engineering challenges
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for multi-million dollar contracts
- Drive innovation in sustainable materials and resilient design methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project delivery
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and structural analysis software
- Proven track record of managing projects over $10M with zero safety incidents
- Strong knowledge of Chicago municipal regulations and Illinois DOT standards
- LEED AP or Envision sustainability credentials preferred
- Exceptional leadership abilities with experience mentoring junior engineers
