Responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects including bridges, highways, and water systems
- Manage project lifecycle from feasibility studies to final commissioning
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of architects, environmental specialists, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.)
- Develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance reviews
- Prepare technical documentation, cost estimates, and progress reports
- Mentor junior engineers and foster professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM software
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-million dollar projects
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and sustainability standards
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience with infrastructure resilience and climate adaptation strategies
