Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of large-scale civil infrastructure projects (bridges, highways, water systems)
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and client communications
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with local codes (Illinois DOT, Chicago Building Code)
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architects, environmental scientists)
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (PE license required)
- 8+ years of experience in transportation or municipal infrastructure
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis software
- Experience with stormwater management and sustainable design practices
- Strong project management and client relationship skills
- Knowledge of Chicago-area permitting processes
- FEMA certification for floodplain management preferred
