Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of large-scale infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and water systems
- Oversee site investigations, soil testing, and feasibility studies for new developments
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal engineering regulations (TxDOT, FEMA)
- Conduct field inspections and quality control during construction phases
- Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous improvement within the engineering team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design
- PE license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and hydraulic modeling software
- Demonstrated experience with TxDOT standards and FEMA floodplain management
- Strong knowledge of sustainable design practices (LEED certification a plus)
- Proven track record of managing projects exceeding $5M in value
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
