Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams from conceptual design through construction administration, ensuring projects meet budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Design & Analysis: Prepare complex civil engineering designs including site grading, stormwater management, roadway layouts, and drainage systems using industry-standard software.
- Compliance & Regulation: Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes, environmental regulations, and zoning laws.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, presenting technical concepts clearly and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Review: Conduct thorough reviews of submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents to identify potential risks and implement corrective measures.
- Innovation: Explore and implement advanced materials and sustainable technologies (such as green infrastructure) to enhance project efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in California is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in civil site development, transportation engineering, or infrastructure project management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and MicroStation; experience with GIS software is a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex engineering data to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting complex design challenges.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative team environment.
