Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and execution of civil infrastructure projects (transportation, water resources, structural systems)
- Manage project lifecycles from conception through construction oversight, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Develop detailed engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and BIM modeling platforms
- Conduct site investigations, geotechnical analysis, and feasibility studies
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including architects, environmental specialists, and contractors
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for multi-million dollar projects
- Mentor junior engineers and implement continuous improvement processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) from ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 8 years progressive experience in civil infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and hydraulic modeling software
- Proven track record with municipal infrastructure projects and permitting processes
- Strong knowledge of ADA, OSHA, and local building codes
- Exceptional project management skills with PMP certification preferred
