Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of civil engineering projects from conceptualization through to final construction and closeout.
- Design & Planning: Develop detailed site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and stormwater management systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and construction activities adhere to local, state, and federal building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
- Site Supervision: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and safety protocols on active construction sites.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors, providing technical guidance and regular project updates.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare and review project budgets, material estimates, and timelines to ensure projects remain within financial constraints.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, preferably in urban development or commercial construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), BIM (Revit), and project management tools (Primavera P6, Procore).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of troubleshooting design challenges and finding innovative solutions.
