Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and create comprehensive treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests including EKG, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons and electrophysiologists, to optimize patient care pathways.
- Perform bedside procedures and participate in rounding on both inpatient and outpatient units.
- Provide patient and family education regarding heart health, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain precise electronic health records and ensure compliance with clinical quality standards.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Board Certification in Adult-Gerontology or Family Practice (Cardiology focus preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a cardiovascular or critical care setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to function autonomously in a high-pressure clinical environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on compassionate patient advocacy.
