Responsibilities
- Develop Pricing Models: Construct and maintain sophisticated pricing models using Python and R to optimize product profitability.
- Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and review detailed actuarial reports for state regulators, ensuring full compliance with NAIC and NYDFS guidelines.
- Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risk exposure, and provide actionable insights to the executive team.
- Model Validation: Perform rigorous stress testing and scenario analysis to validate model assumptions and ensure robustness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with underwriting and product development teams to translate actuarial findings into strategic business decisions.
- Forecasting: Lead long-term forecasting efforts to support the company's growth trajectory and capital management strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Designation: Must possess or be eligible for Associate or Fellowship status (ASA/ACAS/FSA) from a recognized professional society (SOA/CAS).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and SAS is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in property & casualty or life insurance actuarial roles.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Tools: Familiarity with predictive modeling libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) is a plus.
