Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans tailored to patient needs.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitoring & Documentation: Continuously monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR system.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care plans, disease management, and health maintenance strategies.
- Collaborative Care: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Emergency Response: Act swiftly in emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking and clinical expertise to stabilize patients.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all hospital infection prevention and control policies to maintain a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York (NYS).
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in a Medical Surgical or Acute Care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Technology: Proficiency in navigating electronic health records (EHR) systems.
