Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments, escalating concerns as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medication management, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education programs.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring ethical and compassionate care is delivered at all times.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in Medical-Surgical.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Demonstrated strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
