Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, adjusting care plans as critical status changes occur.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with attending physicians and specialists to execute complex treatment interventions.
- Operate and interpret sophisticated life-support equipment, including ventilators and bedside monitors.
- Provide compassionate emotional support and clear communication to patients and their families.
- Maintain meticulous electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in unit-based councils and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in standard EMR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is highly preferred.
