Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes in the ICU setting.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor vital signs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment, including ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergent situations, demonstrating strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and unit-specific educational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a high-acuity Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, emergency response, and advanced patient assessment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
