Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs and medical conditions, making immediate clinical assessments and interventions as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and pharmacists, to develop comprehensive patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately and timely using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment options.
- Respond to emergency situations and code blue events with rapid, decisive action.
- Assist in orientation and mentoring of new nursing staff and nursing students.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in a Critical Care or ICU setting.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment under pressure.
