Responsibilities
- Assess & Monitor: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status to detect changes requiring immediate intervention.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Critical Care Support: Assist in the management of complex medical conditions, including ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and wound care.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to code blue alerts and emergency situations, adhering to hospital emergency response protocols.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a critical care or medical-surgical setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency with electronic medical records, and excellent interpersonal communication.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50lbs), and perform physical assessments.
