Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the Critical Care Unit, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment implementation
- Monitor and interpret patient data using advanced monitoring systems, responding promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans and health maintenance
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response protocols
- Mentor nursing staff and students through clinical instruction and professional guidance
Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license or compact state license
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN candidates with experience considered
- ACLS/BLS certification required; PALS or CCRN certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year critical care experience required for new graduates
- Demonstrated proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function effectively in high-stress situations
