Responsibilities
- Monitor patient status and administer medications according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Perform and document accurate physical assessments, including vital signs and pain management evaluations.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding diagnosis and treatment options.
- Respond immediately to code blue emergencies and critical patient incidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license to practice in the State of New York.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Critical Care or Med/Surg nursing preferred.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
