Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and monitor patient conditions continuously to identify changes and respond promptly.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and patient charts in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.
- Crisis Management: Respond effectively to medical emergencies and critical situations within the ICU setting.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on treatment plans, disease management, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Critical Care or ICU setting preferred.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
