Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and formulate individualized nursing care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status continuously, escalating concerns immediately to the medical team.
- Provide direct patient care and education, ensuring patients and families understand their treatment plans.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based committees to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care or progressive care unit preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
