Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and manage infusion therapies per oncology protocols
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess treatment responses using EHR systems
- Provide symptom management for chemotherapy side effects and pain control
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication schedules, and home care
- Collaborate with oncologists, social workers, and palliative care specialists
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR systems
- Participate in tumor board meetings and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- BSN degree with current Illinois RN license (required)
- 2+ years oncology nursing experience (strongly preferred)
- ONCC chemotherapy/biotherapy certification
- Advanced skills in IV therapy and central line management
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Exceptional communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
