Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes on the Medical-Surgical Unit.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and modify individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease processes, medication management, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHR) of patient status, interventions, and responses.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergent patient situations, demonstrating strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, promoting a culture of safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years considered.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, preferably in a Medical-Surgical or similar unit.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
