Responsibilities
- Provide advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication regimens
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Perform rapid assessments and intervene in emergency situations using ACLS protocols
- Utilize electronic health records (Epic) for accurate documentation and care coordination
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge preparations
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer mentoring
Qualifications
- BSN or Associate Degree in Nursing with current Illinois RN license
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with ventilator management expertise
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and arterial line management
- Demonstrated critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
