Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in a 20-bed ICU unit
- Monitor and interpret complex cardiac rhythms, administering advanced cardiac life support protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and recovery processes
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR system with 100% compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based practice council
- Respond rapidly to emergency situations with precise clinical interventions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois with BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with cardiac specialty preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferred
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking and rapid decision-making
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
