Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced critical care to patients in ICU settings including cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and post-operative care
- Administer medications and treatments with precision while maintaining accurate documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and case managers
- Implement patient care plans and conduct thorough assessments every 2-4 hours
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Participate in rapid response codes and emergency interventions
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects
Qualifications
- Current New York State RN license (required)
- BSN degree (ADN candidates with 5+ years ICU experience considered)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years ICU or critical care experience
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and medical teams
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
