Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced critical care interventions including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and vasoactive medication administration
- Assess patient conditions using systematic nursing frameworks and interpret diagnostic data
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for critically ill patients across diverse populations
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care rounds and provide education to patients/families during high-stress situations
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with JCAHO standards
- Participate in rapid response activations and code blue emergencies
- Mentor new staff and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- BSN degree from accredited nursing program (MSN preferred)
- Active Illinois RN license and current BLS/ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years critical care experience with telemetry proficiency
- CRRT or ECMO certification highly desirable
- Strong proficiency in Epic EMR and critical care monitoring systems
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated crisis management abilities
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends
