Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced critical care to post-cardiac surgery patients using evidence-based protocols
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data from advanced monitoring systems
- Administer complex medications and perform specialized procedures (arterial lines, IABP)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with precise documentation
- Participate in rapid response team activations and code blue situations
- Mentor new staff and contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- 2+ years recent ICU experience with cardiac focus
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Advanced ECG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring expertise
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
- Critical care certification (CCRN) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity patient loads
